Zero Movie Review: Do not judge this boring book by its attractive cover!

Bollywood Movie Review

Rating: 2 Star

38 years old Bauua Singh (Shahrukh Khan) unable to find a bride due to her small height but has higher dreams of marrying Bollywood celebrity Babita Kumari (Katrina Kaif), meanwhile he gets attracted to Aafiya (Anushka Sharma). Bauua wants to cheat Aafiya by trapping her in his false love and he does so by running away on their wedding day. Bauua anyhow managed to meet Babita Kumari and spends a year with her but finds out he loves Aafiya and not Babita Kumari.

He ran for Aafiya now, who is in USA now as an NASA Scientist, Bauua finds her and feels sorry but Aafiya denies forgiving him. What happens with their love story and alcoholic Babita Kumari, gets unfolded by the climax.

Himanshu Kumar screenplay of Zero is not only dragged but also full of flaws as Bauua’s family remains hidden in the second half; Katrina’s character development is poorer, couple of discussions are unclear and etc.

It won’t be wrong if we say screenplay of Zero is the weakest point of the project.

Shahrukh Khan as Bauua Singh is extraordinary without any doubt but at few places you see Shahrukh and not Bauua otherwise his performance is superb.

Anushka Sharma as Aafiya has given her career’s best one as cerebral palsy character.

Katrina Kaif as Babita Kumari is average due to lacking in her character development.

Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub as Bauua’s best friend is fine with his job but has an irritating character.

Rest all like Tigmanshu Dhulia, Sheeba Chadda and others supported well.

Music and Lyrics:

Ajay-Atul music and Irshad Kamil’s lyrics are the best and the only things audience take with themselves after watching Zero. Thanks to these masters for giving us best album of the year.

Anand L Rai has done nice movies in his past as Tanu Weds Manu Series and Raanjhana but he slipped in the Zero. Anand L Rai ruined a nice story with their bad direction.

Other Technical Aspects:

VFX of Zero are commendable and never let you feel anything fake throughout the film, from SRK’s physic to star crackling.

Final Verdict:

Shahrukh Khan’s Zero is a high store and fade dish.
